Berkisah tentang cinta dan kesetiakawanan anak-anak pesantren La Tansa, yaitu Apoy, Faank, Tomi dan Ovie. Empat pemuda yang memiliki minat sama terhadap musik itu sepakat membentuk grup musik yang belakangan diklaim sebagai band WALI
Kehidupan religius pesantren tidak membatasi aktifitas bermusik mereka. Walaupun La Tansa memiliki peraturan dan disiplin yang sangat ketat, diantaranya harus selalu berkomunikasi dalam bahasa Arab atau Inggris di lingkungan pesantren, tapi pesantren ini sangat modern dan demokratis. Ada juga kisah cinta Faank dengan Westi (Intan Nuraini), yang penuh liku karena tak disetujui orang tua Westi. Sementara orang tuanya juga melarang dia bermusik. Kesetiaan cinta Faank juga diuji saat keduanya mengalami kecelakaan. Belakangan Faank dikabari bahwa Westi lumpuh

Tomi yang tak tega melihat nasib sahabatnya, berniat menjodohkan Faank dengan salah satu santri wanita. Sementara Apoy yang paling dewasa pun bisa cemburu saat melihat Azizah terlihat akrab dengan Faank.
